Madrid is the best city for us

The best city in our opinion for Olympics 2016 is Madrid. Transportation, Madrid is bigger airports, there are 45 million passengers and 4 terminals, than Rio and Tokyo. From the airport to Olympic villages only is 17 km. and just 10 or 15 mins that is so convinent. Venues, Madrid already has 8 venues, with 77 per cent already in place throughout the city. Therefore a rush to build would be significantly less than for other candidate cities. The all-important support from both the government and public in Madrid is already more than 90 per cent.

The east side of the city would be the ‘heart’ of the Games, referred to in the bid as the ‘Core Zone’. It will contain 15 sport areas for competition, including the Olympic village and the broadcast and press centre. The west side of the city, along the Manzanares river, and its environmental regeneration project, will represent the ‘lungs’ of the Olympic city. Known as the ‘River Zone’ this area is part of a long-term regeneration project. Green spaces will be created and parts of the river are to be reclaimed for use during the Olympics and afterwards. Those are interresting that they take care of Green not only for Olympic but afterwards also.

Mount Fuji also called, as Fujiyama is the most poplar and undisputedly the number one landmark of Japan. It is located on the Southern Honshu Island and is the highest mountain in Japan, rising to 12,388 feet (3,776 m) near the Pacific coast in Yamanashi and Shizuoka ken, 100 km west of Tokyo, with the apex broken by a cone-shaped crater 610 m (2000 ft) in diameter.
Mount Fuji is relatively a young volcano and has attained its present shape about 5000 years ago and was a result of a series of volcanic activities by the Ashitakayama/Ko-Mitake (Small Mitake), Ko-Fuji (Old Fuji) and Shin-Fuji (New Fuji) volcanoes. The Ko-Mitake volcano is dormant since 100 thousand years ago. The Ko-Fuji volcano, which formed the base of the current, Mount Fuji was active between 100 thousand and 10 thousand years ago. Shin-Fuji volcano which is responsible for the mountain’s current shape started to erupt about 10 thousand years ago and erupted repeatedly for over 100 times during a period of about 10 thousand years. Mount Fuji last erupted on November 24, 1707 and has been sleeping since then, but still the geologists regard it as an active volcano.

Cherry Blossom in Tokyo

The cherry blossom (sakura) is Japan's unofficial national flower. It has been celebrated for many centuries and holds a very prominent position in Japanese culture.
There are many dozens of different cherry tree varieties in Japan, most of which bloom for just a couple of days in spring. The Japanese celebrate that time of the year with hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties under the blooming trees.

Madrid's city government has agreed to guarantee the full budget for the Olympic Village should the Spanish capital be chosen as host of the 2016 Games. Madrid had 77 per cent of its infrastructure already completed, the city will guarantee the 871.9 million euros (C$1.37 billion) it needs to construct the village.

Madrid seem like ready to be hosted in 2016 but I don't think Madrid will get it becuase It is in the same continent of London which be hosted in 2012. There are couples more cities are interesting than it.

Bee's Journal Assignment #1

I think Chicago would make a good Olympic because it's beautiful and a compact games on the lakefront with the beautiful skyline as the backdrop. The village is situated so that 90 percent of athletes are 15 mins away from their competition venues.. and 10 mins away from bustling downtown.. with beautiful parks, dining, museums and culture. A good use of existing facilities, while also creating new stadiums that will be downgraded after the games to be used for chicagoans..unlike the "white elephant"stadiums that go unused.

Chicagoans are known for their love of sports. It has the two most influential people in OBama and Oprah, supporting the game. Chicago has crime, but is Rarely seen in the downtown area and is not as bad as rio. Chicago has more convention space than any other city except for Las Vegas. More than double the amount of hotel space required by the IOC and at a lesser price than the other candiate cities.It has made a 2.5 billion dollar guarentee for the games, it needs to be noted that NO american city has ever lost money for an olympic games.

Chicago is home to dining, sports, culture, music, and pride. I think it will make a fantastic city to host. I think many chicagoans fear that they will be footed with the bill, but the games give chicago a chance to make a big step on the world stage. As chicago city planner Daniel Burnham famously said "Make no little plans, they have no magic to stir mens blood,.. Make big plans..aim high in hope and work"

My name is Bee. I have a cool partner in the class from Poland. Her name is Maria. We are a student in BIR. She has lived in Chicago for 2 years. She has 2 older sisters and 3 older brothers. She is friendly, nice and lovely. When she has time, she likes to see movies, go out dancing and hang out with friends.

Her favorite sport is swimming. In the past, she has tried badminton, hurdles and basketball. She would like to try tennis and cycling but she would not like to try diving and gymnastics. She doesnot like watching boxing volleyball and fencing because they are not interesting and boring.
