About Madrid Olympics 2016

Madrid, is a welcoming city and a true meeting point between different cultures, is the capital of the Kingdom of Spain and home to the Spanish Government, general Courts, other public administration, state institutions and bodies, and is also the official residence of the King and Queen of Spain. It is divided into 21 districts with a total area of 60,430.760 hectares and has a population of 3,128,600 people (according to the Spanish Statistics Institute), and this is forecast to increase to 6,238,101 by 2016.

For tourists Madrid provides a feast of culture with 133 museums and with the three most famous, the Prado, ReĆna Sofia and Thyssen all within six minutes’ walk of each another. Three world word heritage sites are within an hour of Madrid and the city’s nightlife is also unparalleled with over 3,000 restaurants to complement many bars, theatres, nightclubs and shops

Madrid's city government has agreed to guarantee the full budget for the Olympic Village should the Spanish capital be chosen as host of the 2016 Games. Madrid had 77 per cent of its infrastructure already completed, the city will guarantee the 871.9 million euros (C$1.37 billion) it needs to construct the village.

Madrid seem like ready to be hosted in 2016 but I don't think Madrid will get it becuase It is in the same continent of London which be hosted in 2012. There are couples more cities are interesting than it.
